For many centuries, during which people work up wood, was created  few technologies that have made a revolution in this sphere.
     One of these revolutions in working up of wood was thermal modification of wood. 
 

      Thermowood – is wood, prone to thermal modification to improve the technical and decorative features.
      Thermowood is highly resistant to moisture, fungi and harmful insects. According to longevity it is not worse than the best tropical breeds. Such wood is much less water-absorbing and, which is most important, dries quickly to its original level. Its moisture regain usually does not reach 8-12% even in humid areas. Geometry of products made of thermowood is much less dependent on humidity and ambient temperature, which is extremely important for flooring, windows, doors ... insulating properties are improved, weight is reduced.
      Another advantage of thermowood is improving of the appearance. After the thermal modification of wood, its color varies throughout the volume in the range of brown shades from light yellow to almost black, the texture appears. Thus, it is possible to get a cheap woods look exotic and ancient, produce dark flooring without using chemicals, various stains, dyes or impregnations, which is popular now.
      A wide range of products may be manufactured from thermowood – from simple ceiling to sanitary ware and musical instruments.
